Thank you. We're gonna slow it down some with Regina McCreary from Nashville, Tennessee, a voluntary state! She's gonna sing a song called Gonna Keep On Falling In Love Until I Get It Right.

Thank you, that was an animal song, this is a farm song. (before Maggie's Farm)

We just recorded a new album. Does anybody out there speak English? Right, this is on our new album we just did it's called Dead Man Dead Man When Will You Arise.

I wish you'd said that before. What key is that in? (before Knockin' On Heaven's Door)

.... three long years, name’s Carolyn Dennis. She came here with me before she's gonna sing a song, same song she sang last time, called Walking Around Heaven All Day. Carolyn Dennis.

All right here's another new song recently recorded on our forthcoming album. Should be released by (....). Anyway it's called Watered Down Love. You don't want a love that's pure. You wanna drown love, you want a watered-down love.

Thank you. Merci Beaucoup! We enjoyed playing for you tonight. I hope you heard something that you came to hear. Over on the left there is Carolyn Dennis. Standing next to her is Regina McCreary, Madelyn Quebec. On the keyboards tonight, I think William S. Smith from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On guitars, Fred Tackett and Steve Ripley. I'm not gonna say which one's which! On the drums Jimmy Lee Keltner from Tulsa Oklahoma. If you ever come over to the United States you come and see us now. We're always playing around someplace over there. Anyway on the bass guitar of course, Mr. Tim Drummond from Cincinnati, Ohio. See you again! (at the end of In The Garden)

BobTalk

Thank you, This is another song about animals. I wanna say hello to Max Jones if he's here tonight. Mr. Max Jones.

Thank you. This is a new song we just did about a month ago. I don't know when it'll be released. It's called Dead Man Dead Man When Will You Arise.

Thank you. I wanna hand things over now to Carolyn Dennis. Girl who's been with me now for about four years. She came with me last time. She was here with me. And I know you liked her and you'll love her now. Anyway, its Carolyn Dennis is gonna sing a song for you called Walking Around Heaven All Day.

Oh, people have always ..., last few years they've been asking me "sing an old song". There's a whole lot of people that love to live in the past. I do it some times myself. Anyhow, this is a real old song. I used to sing this song before I wrote any songs. I'll try this, don't do this too often any more, but I'll try it anyway. (plays Barbara Allen) Thank you. I used to sing that at the Troubadour Club, I don't know if it's still there. It used to be there. Anyway, this is another song just recently recorded. About a comedian named Lenny Bruce. I don't know why, sometimes I write these songs. This song I decided to keep. I wrote this in about two minutes. I figured well, if it's that easy I should keep it. So I'll keep this song.

Thank you. This is a song that we recently recorded, may come out soon, I hope. Called you don't want a love that's pure, you wanna drown love, you want a Watered Down Love.

Thank you. We gotta get out of here now. I know you wanna know who all these young ladies are up here. On the left you met earlier Carolyn Dennis. Standing next to her is Madelyn Quebec, Regina McCreary, Clydie King. On the organ, keyboards tonight, all the way from Portsmouth, Virginia. He had to swim across the English Channel to get here, arrived early this morning, Willie Smith. On guitars, Fred Tackett, Steve Ripley. On the drums tonight from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim Keltner. Bass guitar, Tim Drummond. I hope we played something that you came to hear. I know I've written a lot of songs so I know I must have left something out. I hope I put something in. (at the end of In The Garden)

Another part on the keyboards, Willie Smith. On the drums tonight, a legend in his own time, played on a lot of hit records. I'm sure you've heard of him. What was that last hit record you played on? If not, we're gonna be here tomorrow night, and the next night and the night after that. You're bound to hear something that you know one of the nights. We'll see you again. Thank you, Maggie's Farm. I think it still exists. (after Maggie's Farm)

This is a new song off a forthcoming record album. I hope it's on the album anyway. It's called Dead Man, Dead Man When Will You Arise. I wrote quite a few new songs I thought I'd play them because I don't know how much longer I'll be playing new songs. People wanna hear the old songs. I was thinking of cutting out all the new songs. So I can play, I'm gonna play just older stuff. This time here in London I'm gonna play all the new songs so in case they never get heard again. Dead Man, Dead Man When Will You Arise.

Thank you. We gonna play you another, this is Carolyn Dennis. Who's gonna sing a song called Walking Around Heaven All Day. Carolyn Dennis. [Carolyn Dennis: "I'd like to dedicate this to Bob and all the members in the band and especially Miss Clydie King."]

We're gonna play a real old song here. A song I used to sing before I used to write any songs. I used to sing this in the Troubadour. I don't know if that club is still called The Troubadour? Well it's the same way we used to sing it then, hasn't changed a bit. (before Mary From The Wild Moor)

Thank you. Thank you for coming tonight. I wanna introduce the lady on the lady on the left one more time, Miss Carolyn Dennis. Standing next to her is Madelyn Quebec, Regina McCreary, Clydie King. On the keyboards tonight, Willie Smith. Playing the guitars tonight, on my right, Fred Tackett, playing the other guitar is Steve Ripley. On the bass guitar tonight, from Cincinnati Ohio, the walls of Jericho, Tim Drummond. On the drums, a legend in his own time for real, Jim Keltner. All right now, I hope we can come back here next year. I know we'll be here tomorrow night and the night after that. We can't come over here enough. Thank you. (at the end of In The Garden)

Standing next to him, on the other guitar, Steve Ripley. On the left over there, the girl you met earlier, Carolyn Dennis. Standing next to her. Madelyn Quebec. Right, Regina McCreary, Clydie King. On the drums, ladies and gentlemen. from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jimmy Lee Keltner. Ha-ha. I'd like to introduce all you people to, but I don't know your names. All right. Thank you. Thank you. That was the latest animal song that I wrote. This is the first animal song I ever wrote. (before Maggie's Farm)

This is a new song we just recorded about a month ago. Should be out in about a year or so. Called Dead Man, Dead Man When Will You Arise.

Thank you. All right, that was Clydie King. We're gonna try a song off this new album of ours. Forthcoming, so called new album. [lots of requests from the audience] Uh? OK, we'll try and do that later. Anyway, this is the main title song called Shot Of Love. We ain't done this before outside of the aeroplane but we’re gonna try it.

Thank you. I wanna do a Dave Mason song, just because I like Dave Mason songs. I don't wanna leave you without doing one Dave Mason song. Which one are we gonna do? (before We Just Disagree)

All right, we’re gonna try .., this is a new (....) I’m told they’re playing it on the radio anyway. [Bob tries out the organ] I’m gonna try and do the best I can. (plays Heart Of Mine) All right. I won’t do that again, last time. Anyway this one here’s a little easier, it’s called Watered-Down Love. You don't want a love that's pure, you wanna drown love, you want a watered-down love. One, two, three, four.

Thank you. Thank you very much for coming here. I wanna introduce to the fellow playing keyboards all night long. On the keyboards, William T Smith from, Portsmouth, Virginia. It’s the first time I’ve ever (....) for him. Well, over left next to him, You met this girl already, Carolyn Dennis. All these girls can sing, you know that. Standing next to her is Madelyn Quebec. On the guitars tonight, Fred Tackett. And don't jump all over yourself now. On the lead guitar, Steve Ripley. Young lady on the left is Regina McCreary. Standing next to her is Clydie King. We try to play a whole lot of stuff when we're here just now, but I know we left some things out. If we come back, we'll do those. I wish we were going to be here tomorrow, we could do all the stuff we started doing ..., left out. Anyway, ... oh well, thank you. Ha-ha! On the bass guitar tonight, he-he, you're gonna have to go out a long way to hurt me! On bass guitar is Tim Drummond. And on the drums, you know who's on the drums by now, no really, I think this band’s one of the best ever, what do you think? [loud cheers] I get tired of reading things I don't like. I sometimes like to ask you what you think. Anyway, on the drums from Tulsa, Oklahoma, by way of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Jim Keltner. I wanna thank you once again. Goodnight. (at the end of In The Garden)

Notes

Live debuts of Shot Of Love and Heart Of Mine.

This show was recorded by Dylan’s crew.

The statement “you're gonna have to go out a long way to hurt me!” was prompted the following incident. A bottle was thrown from the front of the audience, presumably by a drunk intolerant of Bob's "Born Again" songs.  The bottle hit Dylan’s guitar. The noise can be heard on the recording.

Thank you. I hope you can hear us. This is Regina McCreary. She's from Nashville, Tennessee. She’s gonna sing a song called, what? Keep On Falling In Love Till I Get It Right.

Thank you, this is another what you call animal song. I'm gonna record a whole album pretty soon of animal songs. (before Maggie's Farm)

This is a new song off our new record called Dead Man, Dead Man When Will You Arise. This is a song about myself. I was walking right down the road about ten or twelve years ago now. I just recall I wrote this song while looking into the mirror. Dead Man, Dead Man When Will You Arise.

Thank you. That was a song that's just been released. This is an old song that I used to sing a long time ago. I think it's an old folk ballad of some kind. Scottish ballad or English ballad. One of those ballads. See if I can do it like I used to do it. (before Barbara Allen)

Thank you for coming down here tonight. I wanna introduce the lady on my left one more time, Miss Carolyn Dennis. Standing next to her is Madelyn Quebec. Standing next to her is Regina McCreary. I hope we can come back again next year. I know we'll be here tomorrow night. Then we'll be back sometime again soon to. Goodnight. (at the end of In The Garden)
