Thank you! Joan Baez! We’ll do this one for David Crosby who’s out there somewhere. (before Never Let Me Go).

Here’s a song about Hurricane Carter, maybe some of you have heard of him, maybe some of you have not … thank you Arthur, he helps us out .. and maybe you didn’t meet Scarlet, Scarlet’s over here, she plays the violin (before Hurricane).

Notes

·          The circulating PA-tape also contains Oh Happy Day, sung by Joan Baez, Chestnut Mare with Roger McGuinn and the Baez-McGuinn duet. Mary Hamilton and Love Song To A Stranger are not in circulation but are mentioned by Sloman.

·          Mama, You Been On My Mind was performed only once during Tour 1974, in Philadelphia 6 January 1974.

BobTalk

This is Scarlet and we’re gonna dedicate a song to Sam Peckinpah. Hope he’s here today. (before Romance In Durango).

I mentioned before this is Scarlet over here playing the violin. This is a true story (before Isis).

We’re gonna do this song specially today, a tune written by Johnny Ace, it’s a request (Joan Baez: It’s a request by Bob Dylan who’s out there somewhere)

You’ve all heard about Hurricane Carter.

Here’s a song straight from the underground (before One More Cup Of Coffee).

BobTalk

This is a tune from south of the border … remember raw lust does not hold a candle to true love … we’re doing this one tonight for Sam Peckinpah. Glad you could make it Sam! (before Romance In Durango).

This is Scarlet Rivera playing the violin, on my right. … This is a true story, could happen to you, maybe it has. (before Isis).

We’re gonna dedicate this to Gertrude Stein. (before I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine).

We wanna dedicate this one to Richard Manuel, one of these days he’ll show up .. and sing it for you. (before I Shall Be Released).

We heard that Rubin is getting a new trial, and we also learned that Massachusetts was the only state that didn’t vote for Nixon, we didn’t vote for him either (as quoted by Sloman) [gap in the tape, splice probably starts here] … this is a man who survived … got transferred today … from one prison to another. (before Hurricane).

Notes

·          Tracks 1, 2 and 10 are not in general circulation.

·          Track 12 on the circulating tape is actually a splice from this show and from Waterbury 11 November 1975.

·          Arlo Guthrie was a guest at this concert and played two songs with Roger McGuinn on harmonica.
