The last leg of 1992 again was an East Coast tour. The first four served as warm-up shows (in a way) for the Anniversary concert. The decision to play solo or backed by the house band in Madison Square Garden was probably a late one, one week before the show the band had no idea whether they should be there or not!

As to prove that the Tribute was in no way a "Last Waltz" affair Dylan continued touring just one week later and played a series of concerts that must rank as his best during The Never-Ending Tour!
