6 the never-ending tour: SEcond Year

6.1 Introduction

The never-ending tour 1989 consists of three parts:

1. The first leg in Europe, May-June

2. The second leg in the US, July-September

3. The third leg on the US East, Coast October-November

These parts will be referred to as leg 1 2 and 3 below.

The 1989 tour saw two major changes, Dylan started to play harmonica again, both in the acoustic and the electric set, and Kenny Aaronson had to leave suddenly after just a few shows in Europe to have an operation in the US. He was replaced, permanently it seems, by Tony Garnier.

6.2 The Musicians
